With 15+ years of experience in ABA and working with Autistic children, Charla Forbus is our
lead BCBA and co-founder.
Charla started her career in ABA at Spring Harbor Hospital in Maine, working with children ages 4-21.
Here she spent 10+ years cultivating her passion and expertise for ABA and children with
Autism. As an RBT, she learned how ABA could positively impact children who live with Autism.
Through her years of training and education, Charla learned how behaviors like self-injury,
eating issues, toilet training, and communication affect children with Autism differently than a
neurotypical child.
In 2016 Charla moved cross country to Seattle, Washington, to increase her knowledge in early
intervention techniques such as functional communication and enriching young children’s social
skills.
She then transitioned to working with children and their families in their homes.
During the past 15 yrs, Charla worked her way through the ranks of ABA therapy, starting as a
tech, then moving to a BCaBA, and finally achieving BCBA.
Charla received her education at Peru State, Nebraska, for a BS in Psychology and her Masters
at Cappella University with a Masters in Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavioral
Analysis.
She has a genuine passion for helping families affected by Autism and wants to see every child
flourish.

I enjoy road trips exploring old abandoned buildings and learning the history behind it, anything Sci-Fi, and my fur babies! They are very important to me and you will likely see them at the clinic.
I love the beach, any beach! I feel rejuvenated with the sound of ocean waves. I enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures as well.
Applied Behavior Analysis is Evidence based therapy centered around the science of learning and behavior. It can increase language and communication skills, improve focus, memory, social skills, and improve attention and school work. It can also decrease problem behaviors such as aggression, stemming, toilet training, and eating issues. ABA focuses on how the behavior works, how it is affected by the environment and how learning takes place.
